Time-lapse imaging of the posterior migration of primordial germ cells (PGCs) at stages 23–24. PGCs and cell membranes are visualized as in M10-2a. PGCs (red cells) migrate to the posterior (to the bottom) and their movement is independent of that of the somatic cells (green cells) movement (Kurokawa et al., 2006).
