An example of bulk segregation analysis. Electrophoresis patterns of M-markers, MF01SSA018F03-2 and OLa0407e (LG10), are different between the mutant (lane M) and wild type (lane W). In the mutant (lane M), the band from the Southern allele became more intense than that from the Northern allele. In the wild type (lane W), band, the intensity of the Northern allele is more than or equal to that of the Southern allele. Most other markers show a similar two-band pattern between the wild and mutant types. These results indicate that the mutant locus should locate LG10. The left-most lane is a 100 bp ladder DNA size marker.
