Movie 4-3c. Sperm-thawing steps of artificial insemination

All tools must be chilled on dry ice before use and also all procedures must be done rapidly to avoid unintended heating of the cryotube. Gloves must be used to protect hands from frostbite. Take out a cryotube with sperm-filled capillaries from a liquid nitrogen tank, remove one capillary for insemination, and return the cryotube with the rest of frozen sperm as soon as possible. The period from thawing of the capillary until insemination must be minimized since the thawed sperm retain high motility only for a short time.
