Movie 4-3b. Selection of eggs for artificial insemination

Soft unfertilized eggs are separated by the spooling method with tweezers and sorted under a stereomicroscope. Nonactivated eggs that are suitable for artificial insemination can be clearly distinguished from “activated eggs”, because the latter are more transparent, having the perivitelline space and showing the start of oil droplets fusion. All manipulations must be conducted in BBS which maintains the fertility of the unfertilized eggs for several hours.
